Last night I decided to try out my grandmothers old sewing machine that I am borrowing from my aunt. I bought some flannel fabric in three different designs on black and white swirls, another monkey and another green with different circles/dots in colors on it. Well I haven’t used the black and white yet, but i did use the green and the monkey. I made 4 burp rags one large and three small. I used a old rag I had from my first son as a pattern very simple to do. I will create a pattern that can be printed to use later.

So after cutting out the rags I started using the sewing machine this thing is ancient. after sewing two and half rags smoke started coming out the top. I thought I’d fried the thing. Nope it still works. Heh  I was able to finish the last two. I am a very novice sewer when it come to a machine. I tend to break these things. Well looks like i survived and so did the machine this time!

there are two sides to each rag basically after cutting the two sides I put the faced the monkey and green fabric to each other and the white side was facing out and i sewed them together leaving a small hole to turn them right side out. I then sewed another time around the edge.then I was done.

Very simple and easy to make. I plan on making more once the other flannel fabric i order arrives. I will be doing skull tattoo fabric with black swirls and guitar rock n roll fabric with swirl. I may also try to make a swaddling blanket or two!
