Bat, snakes, lizards, skulls and puppy dog tails! A baby play mat for a lil boy of course who is waring puppy dog tails. I did a lil research online and came across a couple patterns for play mats for babies and came up with my own. This mat was made for under 15 bucks. let me tell you well worth the lil amount of time i spent making it as the store bought ones cost over 50 bux.
So how was it made well with fabric, foam insulation tubes, plastic clips and a sewing machine. first i made a pattern for the mat I drew a 90 degree angle and connected the lines with a quarter of a circle like cutting
a pie in 4 pieces. I then added another arch above the quarter of the circle and I cut out four different quarters of a pie and the separated the second part the above circle.
I bought two foam insulation tubes at home depot in the
plumbing department for 97 cents each. These are used for the arches. I used one long piece of fabric to cover them and added the ribbons in the seam for hanging toys. really quit simple to make.
I Also made the toys for it in which have crinkly paper in them or plastic so that they make noise when you squish them. I used the colors red black and white for most of the project as these are known colors to stimulate a babies brain. for the backing of the mat I used fleece as its a sturdy and soft fabric.
Here is a quick sketch up of he pattern i made for this play-mat.
Have fun making it and hope you babies have fun playing on it Mine is.
