I started a new job. there is allot of office drama but when is there not in a call center. I work evenings and hate working evenings as i have found that I prefer that time to spend with friends and family in the summer and BBQ. Now I dont have that time.

I have neglected the blogs and have not found much time to go out shooting. I have taken a couple recent photos from stuff growing in my garden but thats about it.

I also took a few on night after work of the wonderful Portland City scape during the Rose festival. Night photography has always been an interest of mine but have never done.

It took me a while to get the guts to go by my self. One night after work i decided to go. the results where fantastic. I then chose to invite a few people from a Flickr group to go out shooting one night and well turns out mot many people can on a week day night or holiday night.

I did meet up with one individual and we walked around the water front area shooting the memorial day flags and a few other wonders you see at night on the Portland water front.

All my images are for sale On my Photography site TheDigiPix. It takes time to create a night image Not only finding the time to go but the exposure for most my night images is 30 seconds or better.

This week I should have some time to do things as i will have 4 days in which 2 of them will be off from work and with out my son. I will not know what to do with my self. I have not been more than 12 hours with out him around in five yrs. So we shall see what I shall do with so much time by my self. I may try and go out shooting again and take some more photos to share with the world.

next couple month. I am just a lil strapped for cash and time right now. but with the scraps and leftover parts from the bed I was able to build a kitchen Island. I was inspired by knock off wood and came up with my own modified design for a small Kitchen island

It really didn’t take much to build it would have only taken a afternoon to finish but I had several other things going on that made it a longer process. That and I keep going back and forth between a stainless steal top, wood top, or mosaic. I settled for the wood as I tried the stainless and really didn’t care for it. I really like the grain in the wood.

I have put two coats of teak oil on the island and find it to be a gorgeous just the way it is. Sure there are a few flaws, non the less it was my first island. probably not my last. I may be building things for family for Christmas. i was inspired by Knock Off wood and found a new Hobby that I love.

Here are measurement’s:

top sheet of ply wood 24 x 22 inch

legs 2 x 4 four 36 inch

six shelf support sides boards 18 1/2 inch 1×1

six shelf support sides boards 13 inch 1×1

shelf boards 23 3/4 inch 1×2 boards twelve

At the beginning of this year I decided to really try to get back into shape. When I first started the journey of weight lose back in August I was a whopping 288lb Thanks to the wonderful birth control Depo and a job where I just sat on my ass answering emails all day. I worked out off and on from augest to december and ;lost about 20lbs. I was stuck at the 268 mark for the longest time. So in Jaunary i kicked it up a notch. Why well I owe it to both seeing how well my sister had done with lossing wieght and to jeremy getting me a Ipod touch for Christmas. As I went out and bought the Nike + sensor and Started walking 2 miles a day with the dogs.

Now my neighbors have also been working out to get back into shape and they have been using Beach body work out DVD’s . Specifically the Insanity DVD’s. I Got the DVD’s and found that I am so uncoordinated its pretty funny. I Then got the HipHop Abs DVD’s and started doing those as they made me laugh . Which made working out fun.

So I started out working out off and on.Then kicked it up a notch started walking 2 miles a day with the dogs. know I’m kicking it up another notch and adding HipHop abs 30 mins and then walking 2miles.

I am happy to report I have lost in total 53LBs. I am almost at my first goal. I just have 35lbs to go. My first goal is to be at 200lbs which is my before having a child weight and DEPO. Once I reach that my next goal is to get to 175-165.

for those of you struggling keep at it it takes time and patients there is no miracle cure for weight loss.

So today I started the Tree house bed I am building for my son Skyler. Yes I have built the bed in my Kitchen. So far its taken me pretty much all day till my Drill died. I need a second battery pack. So I bought 56 dollars worth of lumbar and the screws, bolts, nuts and washers yesterday. I then cutt the wood this morning and realized I forgot a couple more pieces of wood.

So today I went to Home Depot and bought the rest of the wood which in total cost 36 bucks because I also bought chicken wire to fence off the rest of my garden in my backyard from my dogs. So over all cost so far for the bed has been about 80 dollars. I also bought a few new drill bits and counter sink bits for the project but I will use them for other projects.

So For the Bed plans I have used the bunk bed plans from Knock Off Wood. I have altered them slightly. As i only used 4 2×6 36 inch boards for the head board and foot board and one for the top of the bed. As the top will later be turned into the tree house with a slide. I priced out the plastic slide at Lowe’s they have two one which is about 80 and the other is about 120. I also had to slightly alter the cleats and cut an extra inch off of them as the fit was way to tight to fit right.

My son Skyler has been going nuts as he loves the bed already and excited. He will finally be moving up from a toddler bed to a big boy bed. which will be the coolest bed on the block, thanks to mommy handy work.

So I am officially tired as all hell. I found out yesterday that I got a new job and was so excited gave a two day notice only because the new job wants me to start tuesday. YAy. However because I was so excited I could not sleep at all last night. My brain would not shut off. I keep thinking of building things ie a bunkbed for my son. I want to follow the bunkbed plans the are on knock off wood blogspot. but instead oh a top bunk turn it into a play house that looks like a tree house with a twin bed under neath. I have this awesome idea in my head that I need to sit down and draw out then put together.

Yes both these designs keep me up last night along with the excitement for a new job and oh ya a NOS drink… Oh and yes they are drawn on napkins as i had to get them out of my head as they where still haunting me during the day. The first one is a bunk bed twin with the top as a Castle play house side and ladder.

May fav which is the one when I get enough money I plan on building for my son possible this summer. It is a twin bunkbed with the top turned into a tree house playhouse. With Slide and ladder. Ant one post looking like a tree. With pegs to hang a coat and backpack. I plan on converting this bunk bed on Knockoff wood into my playhouse bed.

Looking for a better life? How about a Career? Well have you thought about getting a life coach or maybe reading up on one. Now available on Amazon There is Blast Off! by Allison Maslan. If your looking for inspiration and a little insight on life you should check out the book it is only $24 and if your lucky you may find it at your local library and not have to spend a dime. The launch of Blast Off was January 19th, 2010 on Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble websites. It should also be available in all other major bookstores now!

Personally I’m not a big reader unless its online. So I have yet to read this book at least util its online or available to ipod touch. I think it could possible help me with my business and keep the work flow inspired when I do read it. But until it is available online for download I probably wont be reading the book. I am surprised that it has only released via paper and not electronic. So maybe it will soon also be released in electronic format for those of us who do not want to lug around another heavy object. I will be keeping my eyes out for an electronic copy.

Yesterday I was reading Knockoffwood blog and came across her plans on building a picnic table for kiddo’s. now I didn’t follow the plans to exact as well I didn’t have the same type sizes of wood around. I have a old futon frame and a few 2 x 4′s laying around. So I was able to put together a picnic table with minimum cutting and not spending a dime.

The only cutting i did was all by hand due to only owning a hand saw, so its not perfect but it still looks good for a kids table… Oh and it was all eyeballed no measuring.

I built it in the middle of my kitchen in a day! would have taken less time but the battery on my drill died a couple times. So in between charges I was able to clean up my backyard and cook dinner.

My son loves it and has been playing on this table since i finished putting it together. This morning he asked if we could eat breakfast on the table. So of course we ate breakfast on the picnic table. Now to decide if I’m going to paint it or stain it….

If I can build something like this you can too!

Build it your self! I came across this blog yesterday where the blogger is so kindly offering plans on tables, beds even entertainment centers. The plans seem to be based off most Create & Barrel and Pottery Barn designs. So if you are handy and don’t like spending 600 to a 1000 dollars on a table you could build for 30 to 60 bucks. Visit Knockoff Wood. Even if you don’t think you can build a it with the plans you can.

My problem with building things is I cant cut a straight line. Well its only a problem if you make it a problem. As Lowes or Home Depot if you provide them with the lengths/cuts you need they will cut the wood for you. So all you will need at that point is a screw gun and sander. If you fill a sock full of nuts and bolts you can age any wood and give it added character like the pieces you see at these fancy smacy stores by beating the wood with the sock. It sounds silly but it works. Just be careful not to smack someone around you or yourself.

So the other day I received a letter from Bank of America in response to my BBB complaint of their BS charging and fees do to them transferring money from accounts with out notifying me. There response was we will refund you half the fees. HALF Escuse me I think not you need to refund all of it it was your mistake not mine. Then in the letter giving me a date in which they would refund it. Guess what Nothing was refunded nodda zilch they told me Id have 315 refunded to one account and 70 to another. which I guess is actually a lil less than half. But thats not the point the point is that they stole from me close to 800 bucks then after filing a complaint they decided to refund half according to the letter would be back into my account on February 23. In which in no was was posted back into my account. Thank you shitty banking businesses. let me just SAY FUCK YOU BANK OF AMERICA here gos a second complaint to BBB and on my blog…
